Adm. William H. McRaven

U.S. Navy Four-Star admiral, best-selling author and former Chancellor of the University of Texas System
Admiral William H. McRaven, a retired U.S. Navy Four-Star admiral, best-selling author and former Chancellor of the University of Texas System draws on his extraordinary experiences to offer audiences insight on U.S. foreign policy, the current geopolitical environment, authority amidst uncertainty, overcoming adversity and the determination to succeed.
McRaven is a recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy and has advised Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and other U.S. leaders on defense issues. During his time in the military, he commanded special operations forces at every level, eventually taking charge of the U.S. Special Operations Command. His career included combat during Desert Storm and both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He commanded the troops that captured Saddam Hussein and rescued Captain Phillips. McRaven is also credited with developing the plan and leading the Osama bin Laden mission in 2011.

As the Chancellor of the UT System he led one of the nation’s largest and most respected systems of higher education. As the chief executive officer of the UT System, McRaven oversaw 14 institutions that educated 220,000 students and employed 20,000 faculty and more than 80,000 health care professionals, researchers, and staff.

McRaven has been recognized for his leadership numerous times. In 2011, he was the first runner-up for TIME magazine’s “Person of the Year.” In 2012, Foreign Policy magazine named McRaven one of the nation’s “Top 10 Foreign Policy Experts.” In 2014, Politico magazine named McRaven one of the “Politico 50”, citing his leadership as instrumental in cutting though Washington bureaucracy. In 2015, he received the Intrepid Freedom Award for his distinguished service in defending the values of democracy. In 2016, McRaven was named the recipient of the Ambassador Richard M. Helms Award by the CIA Officers’ Memorial Foundation, and in 2018 he received the Judge William H. Webster Distinguished Service Award for a lifetime of service to the nation. He currently serves on the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the National Football Foundation.

McRaven is the author of three books including, SPEC OPS: Case Studies in Special Operations Warfare and Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World, based on his 2014 UT Commencement Speech that received worldwide attention. Using personal narratives drawn from his extraordinary experiences he imparts to his audiences lessons in team work, personal accountability, resilience and leadership. His third book, Sea Stories: My Life in Special Operations, released in May 2019, is a remarkable memoir full of inspiring and action-packed stories from McRaven's life in the special operations world.

Larry Kendall has been a leader of the real estate industry for 45 years. He is a founding partner of The Group, Inc. which has regularly been nationally recognized as one of the best run and most productive real estate companies in the United States in market share, per agent sales volume, and business innovation. Additionally, Larry is a co-creator of the Ninja Selling System, used by more than 80,000 real estate and other sales professionals worldwide. His book, Ninja Selling: Subtle Skills. Big Results. was an Amazon best seller and number one new release in its first week. It received the Axiom Business Book Awards Gold Medal as the best new sales book for 2018.

Larry describes himself as a connector, and he has harnessed this quality to improve Colorado communities. Larry served as chair of the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce, helping to double the organization’s membership, pay off debts, and raise funds that saved the Fort Collins Chamber from financial turmoil. He secured more than $2 million in donations, as well as in-kind donations that enabled Respite Care, a nonprofit day care for special needs children, to quickly move to an adequately-sized facility so they could serve more children from both Fort Collins and Loveland.

Larry holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University. He and his wife Pat have a passion for the outdoors, running marathons, hiking, skiing, golfing, and bicycling all over the world together. They have been married for 51 years. Larry says their philosophy has always been to “Live Simple. Think Big. Make a Difference.”

A. Bradley Nelson serves as Chief Marketing Officer at Sotheby’s International Realty®, where he supports the brand's affiliated agents and companies by developing and delivering industry-leading marketing, product and technology offerings. Nelson is also responsible for managing the relationship between Sotheby’s International Realty and Sotheby’s auction house, which provides sellers privileged access to the qualified clients of Sotheby’s through a global marketing partnership.
Previously, Nelson was Senior Vice President of Marketing for the firm’s company-owned brokerage for five years, where he led an internal marketing agency comprised of 50 specialists that supported more than 2,000 agents in 12 US markets.

He was previously Head of Marketing for Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates in Washington, DC, Miami, FL and Naples, FL. Nelson began his career with marketing roles in the real estate development industry at Baldwin Park Development Co. and East West Partners.

Nelson attended the College of Business at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va., where he concentrated in marketing and international business. In the media, he has commented on luxury real estate marketing trends to The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Forbes and has appeared on CNBC.
